If during the ’80-s Cal Amp built a strong reputation as a provider of C Band sattelite reception equipment, since 90’s, as markets evolved and customers preferences changed, Cal Amp drew on their strong core competencies establishing a strong position in emerging multichannel multipoint distribution service ( MMDS) and wireless cable industry.
ISO certified since 1995, Wireless DataCom Division is specialized in developing solutions that address a variety of requirements, especially where terrestrial communications are unavailable, unreliable or uneconomic. Some examples of applications CalAmp has developed solutions for include: industrial monitoring and control, public safety mobile voice and data, embedded wireless devices, mobile resource management, MMDS tranceivers/downconverters, Aercept complete vehicle finance system. CalAmp’s Satellite Division supplies outdoor customer premise equipment to the U.S. Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) market.
